As a Systems Operations Engineer at Radius you’ll play a key role in supporting and maintaining our Linux environment.

Reporting into our Head of Infrastructure, you’ll work closely with colleagues in our IT Infrastructure and Software Development teams to ensure our systems are scalable, secure, and efficient - whether they’re internal platforms or customer-facing services.

In-person collaboration is very important to us. You will need to be able to work from our head office site in Crewe, Cheshire for a minimum 3 days per week.

The onsite facilities are excellent, including gym, changing rooms, café, barista bar, and multiple breakout areas.

What you’ll be doing

  • Primary support and maintenance of the group’s Linux estate.
  • Additional support and maintenance of the group’s AWS infrastructure.
  • Automating infrastructure tasks such as environment builds, scaling, monitoring, and patching.
  • Collaborating with Software Development and DevOps teams to meet infrastructure needs.
  • Researching and recommending improvements to enhance service levels and efficiency.
  • Documenting systems and following change management protocols.
  • Ensuring compliance with internal controls and security standards.

What we’re looking for

  • Proven experience with Linux technologies (Ubuntu, Apache, PHP, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Nginx, Postfix, Git)
  • Familiarity with configuration tools (Puppet, Ansible, Terraform, Ninja)
  • Experience with AWS services (EC2, ECS, Lambda, VPC, Route53, S3, RDS, CloudWatch, CloudFormation)
  • Knowledge of Windows Server (Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS)
  • Scripting skills in Python and Bash
  • Solid understanding of IT security fundamentals
  • Ability to manage SLAs and prioritise competing requirements
  • Awareness of emerging tech trends and industry drivers

Please be aware that if your application is successful, you will be required to undergo a Non-Police Personnel Vetting (NPPV) Level 3 check as part of the onboarding process.
