Job Description

The Program Manager (PM) will be responsible for all aspects of improving mine operations, from exploration and mine planning to production. This position will work collaboratively with interdisciplinary professionals to manage engineering projects. The PM will also play a pivotal role in mentoring other engineers, managing projects, and conducting business development activities, including identifying new opportunities, fostering strategic partnerships, and contributing to the long-term growth and sustainability of the organization.

The ideal candidate will lead both surface and underground projects for mining companies and help manage a team of engineers and geologists, manage multiple projects and business development initiatives concurrently. Additional responsibilities include:

  • Proposal development
  • Budget and schedule oversight
  • Junior staff mentorship

  • Seamless integration within a diverse multidisciplinary engineering team

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have the following:

  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in geology, mining, geological, or civil engineering; an advanced degree in business administration is helpful
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in mining aggregate, crushed stone, sand and gravel, cement, or consulting industries
  • A registered professional engineer/professional geologist license or ability to obtain upon hire
  • At least 5 years of project management experience
  • Leadership and team management experience
  • Technical report writing experience
  • Resource and reserve experience under the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission’s S-K 1300 regulation
  • Cash flow analysis or financial modeling experience
  • Extensive experience in commercial mining engineering software (e.g., Surpac, Vulcan, Carlson, Minesched, and GIS) and proficiency in programming skills (e.g., TCL, Lisp, Visual Basic, and other programming languages) are also preferred
