Senior NLP Engineer (m/f/x) - Remote from Anywhere in Spain
- Full-time
- Team: Machine Learning
- Department: Technology
Company Description
Founded in 2020, QuoIntelligence is Europe´s fastest growing startup in the field of Cyber Threat Intelligence. Headquartered in Germany, and incorporated in the United States, Italy and Spain, we are committed to informing decision makers of current and prospected cyber and geopolitical threats by providing Finished Intelligence, tailor-made for their organization.
To achieve our mission, our colleagues in the Machine Learning and Data Collection teams are actively developing an innovative data collection and processing tool that sits at the core of our intelligence production. We are currently ingesting multiple hundreds of data sources including RSS feeds, darkweb, social media, instant messaging, forums, and more. Machine Learning (ML) plays a crucial role in processing and enriching this data with the entities and tags that are necessary to identify important and relevant events and suppress the noise.
Job Description
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Natural Language Processing (NLP) engineer to develop our data enrichment pipelines even further and automate a variety of workflows that traditionally, in the cyber security domain, are managed by humans. Somebody who is willing to work independently, get his hands dirty on all ML development phases from talking to the stakeholders and identifying the important problems, to collecting the necessary data and developing state-of-the-art and optimized ML models that can be deployed in our stack and provide immediate value. There is a growing interest in Large Language Models (LLMs) and a successful candidate should be willing to keep up with recent developments in the field and identify what is relevant to our use cases.
Key responsibilities:
- Design and build scalable and efficient NLP services to address a variety of problems ranging from natural language generation and machine translation to entity extraction and from document understanding and chatbots to content classification and recommender systems.
- Utilize benchmarks, metrics, and monitoring to evaluate and improve services quality and performance.
- Deploy ML services to production at scale considering cost and hardware constraints (e.g., could be required that certain inference tasks need to be performed on CPUs).
- Play an active role in collecting and preprocessing the datasets necessary to train the ML models and evaluate performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, software engineers and product managers, to develop and integrate ML solutions for our products.
- Stay up to date with the latest advancements in AI research and contribute to the development of innovative technologies.
- Convey technically difficult concepts in a clear and understandable way, translate business needs to technical specifications, and provide guidance for applying natural language processing & machine learning to other teams
- Mentor & guide researchers and data scientists.
Qualifications
Required skills:
- Master's degree in computer science, data science, mathematics, or a related field.
- Proven experience (>3 years) as an NLP engineer or similar role building large scale ML systems to solve NLP problems, using preferably open-source frameworks.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on delivering practical solutions.
- Practical experience in deploying and optimizing ML models in production.
- Ability to write robust code in Python, including mastering ML/NLP libraries and frameworks (e.g., sklearn, spacy, Pytorch, HuggingFace, LangChain etc.)
- A passion for research and a drive to stay up to date with the latest advancements in AI research.
- Excellent communication skills in English, covering complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Holding an EU passport or a permanent work permit for Italy or Spain.
Good to have skills, but not mandatory:
- Experience using GPT models in production.
- Experience in vector databases (e.g., Weaviate)
- Practical experience with weak-supervision or few-shot learning algorithms.
- Knowledge of Information security and cybersecurity fundamentals
- PhD in ML, Computer Science, or a related field.
