Job Description
Summary:
Queens University of Charlotte seeks an experienced Assistant Director to support a university-wide Internship & Career Programs office.
Reporting to the Director of Internship & Career Programs, the Assistant Director will assist with the development, implementation and execution of an employer relations plan that supports student and alumni employment. The Assistant Director’s efforts will directly impact our five colleges and schools, and other units on campus. Together with the Director, the Assistant Director will regularly work with employers, deans, faculty, staff, students, alumni, and various administrative units to deliver programming and resources.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include:
- Support the development, implementation and execution of an employer relations plan.
- Plan, market and execute on-campus recruiting events and other programming.
- Develop and maintain internal and external stakeholder relationships and partnerships.
- Provide career advising to students and alumni.
- Assist Director of Internship & Career Programs with student outcomes data collection and analysis.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Internship & Career Programs.
Nonessential Duties:
- Other duties may be assigned as needed.
Qualifications
Experience, Knowledge and Skills Required:
- 3+ years of direct experience in career services within higher education, university recruiting or related field.
- Client relations and account management experience.
- Ability to interpret and analyze qualitative and quantitative data.
- Experience in developing and using measurements of success for programs and initiatives.
- Knowledge of trends in diverse employment sectors.
- Skills in event planning and program management.
- Ability to interact well with employers, students, faculty, parents, staff, administrators, and in public settings.
- Ability to work well individually and in team settings.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office 2013.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment in unusual/new situations.
- Ability to work with a diverse population.
- Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to multitask efficiently.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Bachelor’s degree. Master’s degree preferred

Additional Information
- Work in office environments, involving contact with faculty, staff, students, parents, service providers and vendors.
- Work has deadlines, interruptions, and may be stressful at times.
- Must be willing to participate in limited travel.
