Job Description

  • Permanent position available in Sydney, Australia
  • 4 days on, 4 days off roster (2 day shifts and 2 night shifts)

You'll be part of Qantas Engineering, working as an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) within our Structures team. In this hands-on role, you'll carry out structural maintenance, repairs and modifications across a range of aircraft types, with a strong focus on aircraft sheet metal work.

Your responsibilities will include inspecting, repairing, fabricating and installing aircraft structural components, carrying out sheet metal repairs and modifications, interpreting engineering drawings and maintenance manuals, and ensuring all work is completed in line with safety, quality and airworthiness requirements. You'll join a skilled team committed to delivering safe and reliable outcomes while supporting one of the most respected engineering operations in the aviation industry.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Certificate IV in Aeroskills (Structures), or Certificate IV in Aeroskills (Mechanical) with significant aircraft sheet metal experience, is mandatory
  • Demonstrated aircraft sheet metal experience within the aviation industry
  • Experience carrying out structural repairs and modifications on aircraft
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, maintenance manuals and technical documentation
  • Strong commitment to safety, quality and compliance standards
  • High attention to detail and pride in workmanship
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to work a rotating 4 days on, 4 days off roster consisting of 2 day shifts and 2 night shifts
