Job Description

  • Join the Corporate Finance & Consolidation team supporting the CFO portfolio across the Qantas Group
  • Take ownership of complex financial reporting, financial control and stakeholder engagement activities
  • 2-year fixed-term opportunity based at Mascot Head Office

The Finance division plays a critical role in helping Qantas maintain its leadership position by providing financial reporting, governance, planning support and commercial insights across the Group.

As a Senior Financial Analyst within the Corporate Finance & Consolidation team, you will support the CFO portfolio through financial reporting and control activities, while partnering closely with Finance Business Partners, finance leaders and operational stakeholders across the business.

This role offers exposure to senior leaders, including the CFO, and provides the opportunity to lead complex reporting processes, consolidate Group results and contribute to the continuous improvement of reporting and financial control frameworks. You'll play a key role in delivering accurate, timely and insightful financial information that supports decision-making across the organisation.

Fixed term role (end date is 15/08/2028)

You'll have:

  • CA or CPA qualification.
  • Demonstrated experience in financial reporting, financial control, external reporting or technical accounting roles.
  • Strong understanding of accounting standards and financial reporting requirements.
  • Experience managing month-end, half-year and year-end reporting processes within a large, complex organisation.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial results and provide meaningful insights.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships across finance and operational teams.
  • Experience owning and managing a portfolio with a high degree of autonomy and accountability.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities in fast-paced reporting environments.
  • A continuous improvement mindset, with experience driving process optimisation, automation or reporting enhancements.
  • Exposure to tools such as Alteryx, Power BI, cloud-based reporting solutions or AI-enabled technologies will be highly regarded.
  • Experience within large corporate environments, listed companies, or professional services environments will be highly regarded.
