Cabin Crew is the largest operational workforce within Qantas, with approximately 7,000 employees supporting our domestic and international networks. We're seeking a commercially astute and highly influential leader to drive the strategy, performance and transformation of commercial arrangements that support this critical operation.

 

As the Senior Manager, Cabin Crew Commercial, you’ll lead the commercial management of key supplier relationships across accommodation, transportation and other operational services that support our Cabin Crew workforce. You'll be responsible for driving contract performance, delivering commercial outcomes, ensuring suppliers are held accountable to agreed standards and identifying opportunities to improve service, efficiency and value. This role sits at the intersection of commercial strategy, supplier performance, operational effectiveness and transformation, with responsibility for some of the most significant supplier relationships supporting Cabin Crew.

Success in this role requires more than commercial expertise. You'll need to quickly develop a deep understanding of how the Cabin Crew operation functions, identify the interdependencies that extend across the broader Group and navigate a complex stakeholder environment to drive outcomes. As operational priorities shift, you'll be someone who can challenge the status quo, recognise when momentum is taking the business in the wrong direction and confidently influence stakeholders to pursue a better path.

 

You’ll have –

  • Strong commercial acumen and proven negotiation capability
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and proven ability to influence across all levels of an organisation
  • Experience delivering change, transformation or operational improvement initiatives
  • Strong project management and delivery capability
  • The ability to interpret data, identify trends and translate insights into commercial recommendations
  • Experience navigating ambiguity and overcoming roadblocks to achieve business outcomes
  • A collaborative leadership style with a focus on accountability, partnership and execution
  • A proactive, solutions-focused mindset and the ability to navigate competing priorities to deliver results
  • Experience within travel, hospitality, transport or other large-scale service environments will be advantageous however not necessary
