In the role of Treasury Risk Manager, you’ll be responsible for developing and executing financial risk management strategies across both the Group’s foreign exchange and carbon price risk portfolios. These strategies will ultimately support major capital investment programs, safeguard cash flow outcomes and contribute to the Group’s long-term financial performance and decarbonisation pathway.
This role offers exceptional exposure to strategic financial decision making. You'll work with senior leaders, gain exposure to global financial markets and play a key role in shaping financial outcomes for the business.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Lead the identification, analysis and management of foreign exchange exposures across significant capital investment activities.
- Monitor global economic conditions, market developments and emerging risks to identify opportunities and risks.
- Provide modelling and strategic recommendations to senior stakeholders.
- Execute considered hedging and risk management strategies.
- Manage and optimise the Group’s exposure to carbon market pricing and related risk management activities.
- Partner closely with operational and commercial teams to understand future exposures and financial impacts.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with banking partners, financial institutions and market counterparties.
- Contribute to the ongoing enhancement of treasury risk frameworks, policies and systems including driving the adoption of AI, automation and data-driven tools to streamline treasury risk processes, improve controls and enhance the quality and timeliness of insights.
About You
You are a commercially astute treasury, banking or finance professional who thrives in a fast-paced and complex environment. You enjoy solving challenging problems, influencing stakeholders and navigating financial markets to deliver tangible business outcomes.
You'll bring:
- Experience in Treasury, Banking, Financial Markets or Corporate Finance.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics or a related quantitative discipline.
- Strong knowledge or interest in foreign exchange markets, derivatives, hedging strategies and financial risk management.
- Advanced analytical, financial modelling and problem-solving capability.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to communicate complex concepts simply and effectively.
- Strong commercial judgement and the confidence to influence decision-making at senior levels.
- A collaborative approach and commitment to continuous improvement.
