As part of Supply Chain Operations, the Senior Component Buyer plays a critical role in ensuring the timely procurement and availability of aircraft components to support Qantas Engineering and operational requirements. Working with both contracted and non-contracted suppliers, you'll manage end-to-end purchasing activities, monitor supplier performance, and ensure materials are delivered to meet business and customer expectations.

You'll collaborate with internal stakeholders and external vendors to resolve supply and inventory issues, expedite critical orders, and drive effective procurement outcomes. Using data and insights to identify trends and improvement opportunities, you'll also support supplier performance management, investigate quality and service issues, and provide guidance to team members to help achieve supply chain performance objectives

You’ll have –

  • Sound knowledge and experience working within a purchasing function or similar experience
  • Experience in purchasing, procurement or supply chain operations
  • Experience sourcing and procuring aircraft components or technical materials (desirable)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience managing supplier relationships, contracts and performance
  • Advanced Excel and reporting capabilities
  • Experience working with procurement systems and buying processes (desirable)
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage priorities
  • A customer-focused mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement
