We’re seeking both Type Rated and Non‑Type Rated Pilots to operate our modern Boeing 737‑800 fleet, connecting New Zealand to the Qantas network.

Pilots joining Jetconnect receive full First Officer base pay from day one, along with great benefits, comprehensive training and a supportive team that invests in long‑term career development. We provide a fully funded Type Rating at no cost when you remain employed within the Qantas Group for three years.

Flight Hour Requirements:

  • 1,500 hours total aeronautical experience.
  • 500 hours powered fixed‑wing multi‑engine or single‑engine turbine time.
  • Plus, one of the following:
    • 250 hours command on fixed‑wing aircraft, OR
    • 250 hours command (up to 180 hours ICUS) and 500 hours as co‑pilot on a transport category aircraft.

Minimum Qualifications (or ability to obtain before starting):

  • Australian CASA ATPL (A) or CPL (A)
    • CPL holders require passes in all Australian CASA or NZ CAA ATPL subjects.
  • CASA Multi Engine Aeroplane Instrument Rating with 2D/3D Instrument Approach endorsements.
  • Current MEA Instrument Proficiency Check.
  • Level 6 English Language Proficiency on your CASA licence.
  • Current CASA Class 1 Medical.
  • Eligibility for both ASIC (Australia) and AvSec (NZ) security clearances.
  • Valid passport with at least 12 months’ validity.
  • Legal right to live and work in New Zealand without restriction. Non‑NZ/Australian passport holders must hold NZ Permanent Residency.
