Your Opportunity

As our new Demand Forecasting & Insights Lead, you will be responsible for developing a deep understanding of engineering maintenance demand and delivering accurate forecasts over a five-year horizon. The role operates across two key dimensions: building robust, forward looking forecasting capability and translating complex demand drivers from across the business into clear, actionable insights.

You will work closely with CAMO, AMO, Fleet and operational stakeholders to identify and capture demand drivers, ensuring these inputs are effectively modelled and communicated to stakeholders at all levels of the organisation. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Engineering Network & Strategic Planning, you will play a critical role in aligning long term engineering demand with strategic, financial, and operational planning.

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Lead engagement with CAMO, AMO, Fleet and operational stakeholders to capture demand inputs, validate assumptions, resolve discrepancies, and communicate forecasting insights to governance forums.
  • Own the design, delivery, and technical architecture of engineering planning analytics, including dashboards and reporting (Power BI, Streamlit or similar) covering KPIs, productivity, and footprint efficiency.
  • Drive forecasting, analytics, and reporting accuracy through continuous model refinement, performance monitoring, and stakeholder feedback.
  • Champion AI, automation, and optimisation within planning by developing Python based tools, automating data pipelines, and partnering with IT/Digital to pilot and implement new technologies.
  • Enable capability uplift across the engineering planning function through self‑service analytics, training, user guides, and advanced analytical support to Managers and Planning Analysts.

To be successful in this role, ideally you’ll have:

  • Degree in a quantitative discipline and/or relevant certifications (Data Science, Statistics, Analytics, Engineering, Computer Science or similar) desirable.
  • Demonstrated experience in data analytics, demand forecasting, or business intelligence roles.
  • Strong Python capability for data analysis, forecasting, automation, and statistical modelling.
  • Proven experience developing forecasting or predictive models with accountability for accuracy.
  • Experience building dashboards and analytics solutions using BI tools (eg Power BI, Tableau), including SQL and data integration.
  • Exposure to AI/ML tools and modern analytics techniques highly regarded.
  • Strong analytical thinking, attention to data quality, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to translate complex technical insights for senior, non‑technical stakeholders and work effectively across the business.
  • Aviation or operational planning experience advantageous but not essential.
