Company Description

QAD is transforming how manufacturers and supply chains operate through intelligent, adaptive
solutions powered by agentic AI. Our flagship platform, QAD Adaptive ERP, serves global
manufacturers across automotive, life sciences, food & beverage, consumer products, and
industrial manufacturing — helping them move from a system of record to a system of action.

Backed by Thoma Bravo and headquartered in Santa Barbara, CA, QAD is on a mission to make
the world's manufacturers more effective, efficient, and adaptive.

Job Description

The Value Engineer is a critical strategic role at the intersection of sales, consulting, and
industry expertise. You will be a trusted advisor to prospects and customers — articulating,
quantifying, and delivering the business value of QAD's Adaptive ERP, Champion AI, and cloud
solutions throughout the sales cycle and beyond.

This role works closely with Account Executives, Solution Consultants, and Customer Success teams to build compelling business cases, drive executive alignment, and accelerate deal cycles by anchoring every conversation to measurable outcomes.

The Value Engineer is responsible for evangelizing and applying QAD's Value Management
Framework — from initial discovery and benchmarking through business case construction,
roadmap definition, and post-go-live value realization.

Key Responsibilities:

Value Selling & Business Case Development:

  • Lead the development of robust, customer-specific business cases that quantify the financial and operational impact of QAD Adaptive ERP and related solutions (TCO, ROI, NPV, payback period)
  • Conduct discovery workshops with C-suite and operational stakeholders to identify pain points, strategic priorities, and improvement opportunities across manufacturing, supply chain, finance, and quality
  • Translate customer data and industry benchmarks into compelling, board-ready value narratives and executive presentations

Sales Cycle Support:

  • Partner with Account Executives during strategic deals to position QAD's value proposition against competitive alternatives (SAP, Oracle, Epicor, Infor)
  • Facilitate structured Value Discovery Sessions and Executive Briefings to build internal champions and accelerate prospect commitment
  • Support QAD's Champion Pace rapid implementation narrative by connecting time-to- value acceleration directly to business outcomes

Benchmarking & Diagnostics:

  • Apply industry benchmarks and operational maturity models to assess a prospect's current performance versus best-in-class manufacturing peers.
  • Leverage QAD's Champion AI capabilities to demonstrate how agentic automation drives measurable improvements in inventory optimization, production scheduling, and workforce productivity.
  • Develop and maintain value hypothesis templates by vertical (automotive, life sciences, food & beverage, etc.) for repeatable use across the sales organization.

Value Framework & Knowledge Management:

  • Contribute to the ongoing development and refinement of QAD's Value Management methodology, tools, and content library.
  • Create and maintain reusable assets including ROI calculators, value case templates, success story frameworks, and competitive value positioning guides.
  • Help develop and deliver internal training on value selling techniques for Sales and Presales teams

Customer Lifecycle Value:

  • Partner with Customer Success and Professional Services to establish value baselines at deal close, enabling post-go-live measurement and value realization reviews.
  • Support renewal and expansion motions by demonstrating realized value and identifying new opportunity areas within existing accounts.

Qualifications

Required:

  • 6+ years of experience in value engineering, presales consulting, management consulting, or a related field within an ERP, manufacturing technology, or enterprise software environment.
  • Deep functional knowledge of manufacturing business processes — including production planning, supply chain management, quality management, financials, or shop floor operations.
  • Proven ability to build and present executive-level financial business cases and ROI models.
  • Strong financial acumen — comfortable with P&L analysis, TCO modeling, and investment justification frameworks.
  • Experience engaging and influencing C-level stakeholders (CFO, COO, VP Manufacturing, VP Supply Chain).
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency with financial modeling tools (Excel, Google Sheets) and presentation platforms.

Preferred:

  • Hands-on experience with QAD, SAP, Oracle, Epicor, Infor, or another major manufacturing ERP.
  • Industry expertise in one or more of QAD's core verticals: automotive, life sciences, food & beverage, consumer products, or industrial manufacturing.
  • Background in cloud ERP migration, SaaS subscription sales, or digital transformation programs.
  • Familiarity with AI/ML-driven manufacturing applications, agentic AI, or connected workforce platforms.
  • MBA or equivalent advanced degree.
  • Experience with value selling methodologies (Gartner Business Value Framework, ROI Selling, MEDDIC/MEDDPICC)

What Success Looks Like:

  • Shortened deal cycles through executive alignment and board-ready value cases
  • Higher win rates in competitive displacement deals against SAP, Oracle, and Epicor.
  • Documented value realization stories from existing customers that fuel pipeline and retention.
  • A growing, well-maintained library of vertical-specific value tools adopted across the sales organization.
