Job Description

As a Medical Writer I within Langland's Medical Strategy & Education team, you will be have the opportunity to write well crafted, scientifically sound and strategic deliverables for clients with guidance and support from more senior writers. 

We are looking for ambitious candidates who have a talent for writing and capable of communicating complex science. If you are ready to join a close-knit, ambitious team and play a role in the development and delivery of high-quality medical education programmes, whilst experiencing a myriad of personal and professional development opportunities via our Early Careers Programme, we’d love to hear from you.

Role responsibilities:

  • Creates scientific and creative content within timelines and budget, ensuring the high quality, scientific accuracy, creativity and integrity of own work
  • Develops a good understanding of assigned therapy areas and proactively remains up to date with emerging trends and advances in the field
  • Undertakes fact and reference checking of other’s work to ensure accuracy and validity of content
  • Interacts directly with clients on content developed
  • Provides research and content support for new business initiatives as needed
  • Develops a good understanding of the relevant codes of practice and ensures compliance in content development

Your skills and experience

  • A bachelor’s degree in the life sciences [2:1 or above] and ideally a master’s degree or PhD)
  • Transferrable experience from academia or a non-medical communications environment, OR <1 year of medical writing experience within a medical communications agency or an in-house pharma med comms team, demonstrating:
  • the ability to write compelling medically and/or scientifically orientated content
  • assimilation, interpretation and effective re-communication of medical/scientific topic
  • confident verbal communication around medical/scientific topics
  • effective time management and prioritisation
