Job Description
The SEO Content Strategy Manager is the lead voice for organic search content direction for their set of brands. In this role, individuals lead both tactical optimization work like keyword research and meta data development, as well as long-term development of holistic strategies, competitor analyses, content audits and recommendations for SEO campaigns. The Manager also collaborates with the SEO Account Manager to identify short and long-term opportunities that align with client goals. The Manager then communicates the content approach to clients.

- Strong grasp of current and historic SEO trends
Can easily explain complex search-related concepts to internal teams and clients
Able to be the lead content resource for a specific set of brands
Able to develop holistic strategies that align both with audience behaviors and client goals
Able to structure and format recommendation by need, value, and ease of implementation
Can pull keyword insights from multiple sources
Knows how the agency works and how jobs flow through the agency
Basic computer skills/programs including Excel
Has an understanding of digital marketing
Basic grasp of high level concepts of SEO
Solid writing skills
Internal: Operations, Tactics and Strategy
Responsible for day-to-day management, execution and monitoring of SEO strategy
Trains and mentors associates on SEO best practices
Coordinate with SEO account manager to understand clients’ SEO goals and client deliverables
Able to marry organic search insights with other sources, including paid search, social listening, and third party research documents
Execute SEO related tasks as directed by SEO account managers
Research keywords target audience utilized in search
Expected to make recommendations on keyword strategy, content optimization, linking, and all on-site keywords related elements.
Can understand client brand goals and objectives and how SEO ties in
Ability to conduct high quality keyword research based on audience need, intent and client areas of focus
Client Relationship
Ability to present strategic deliverables orally both in-person and over the phone to clients
Attends/participates in client meetings and provides timely follow-up to the Account Manager
Detailed, professional and timely communications to internal team
Ability to clearly communicate both orally and in writing
Solid listening skills and ability to takes notes during meetings if needed
Ability to clearly communicate both orally and in writing
Qualifications
Adherence to agency procedures (on-time and accurate timesheets, GDPs, 360 feedback)
Knowledge and experience using SEO/SEM-related tools (SEMrush, Google Keyword Planner, Bright Edge/SEOClarity/Conductor, AHREFs, etc.)
Solid listening skills
Proficiency in computer skills used to manage day-to-day workflow (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite)
Ability to work in a matrix (multi-supervisory) environment
Ability to multi-task, manage one’s time, and demonstrate personal organization and ability to meet deadlines (strong work ethic)
Ability to take initial direction, then transition to a more independent work style

Bachelor’s degree required.
Several years of direct SEO experience preferred
Past writing experience preferred
Previous pharmaceutical industry experience a plus
