Duties:  Design systems software; work on development of programs to automate the Systems Engineering Infrastructure Monitoring and Configuration; research on new and innovative ways to customize, optimize and scale the working of Systems Engineering based tools to support the Organization’s growing Infrastructure; support on call rotation of servers and applications owned by System Engineering team; research and develop API calls for open source tools; develop plugins for monitoring systems and applications; plan and coordinate in maintaining Mysql and Postgres Database to ensure maximum reliability and uptime; perform configuration package management/automation using RPM spec files and Puppet manifests; and provide Level 3 support for CentOS linux based troubleshooting.

 

Requirements: Employer will accept Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or related field, and 2 years of work experience in job offered or 2 years of work experience in a related occupation. Experience must include one year of experience with each of the following:

1)      Linux;

2)      Python;

3)      Perl;

4)      Shell Script;

5)      Puppet;

6)      Experience with package management;

7)      Experience with infrastructure monitoring;

8)      Webservice API calls; and

9)      Experience with Automated Unit Test Frame using Rspec.


Must be available to work on projects at various, unanticipated sites throughout the United States.
