Job Description

We are seeking a Sales Tax Administrator to support our Indirect Tax team. This position provides foundational compliance and operational support, assists with sales and use tax filings, and serves as a key contributor to maintaining accurate tax data and processes.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and file simple state and local sales and use tax returns, ensuring completeness and timely submission.
  • Maintain and validate transaction data used for return preparation, identifying discrepancies and supporting corrections.
  • Assist with sales tax and business license registrations, license renewals, and jurisdictional compliance requirements.
  • Support audit activities by gathering documentation, preparing data schedules, and responding to auditor requests.
  • Monitor and coordinate communications sent to shared mailbox.
  • Conduct basic research on state and local sales tax regulations to support compliance and taxability determinations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams—including Accounting, Accounts Payable, and Operations—to resolve sales tax-related issues.
  • Maintain organized documentation and records for compliance, audits, and internal controls.
  • Support process improvements and system updates related to sales tax compliance and reporting.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
  • 1–3 years of experience in sales and use tax, accounting, or finance preferred.
  • Basic understanding of multi-state sales and use tax concepts and compliance processes.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Experience with ERP systems or tax compliance software OneSource or similar preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
