Job Description

The Sr. HR Manager will work alongside the VP of HR to manage key programs and large-scale initiatives across Human Resources. The Sr. HR Manager is a strategic partner responsible for advising HR and business leadership and helping enable scalable and efficient processes across the organization.

The ideal candidate for this role is a driven strategic partner, embracing ambiguity, requiring proactive ownership, and requiring flexibility through changing stakeholder needs while serving as a trusted Human Resources advisor to business leaders, offering expert guidance on HR-related matters, including strategic initiatives with a focus on talent management and organizational development.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

Talent Management Transformation:

  • Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and implement HR strategies that support talent management and align with corporate business objectives, driving overall success.
  • Identify training and development opportunities to enhance workforce capabilities and readiness.
  • Provide strategic advice on organizational design, workforce planning, succession planning, and talent development initiatives.

Employee Relations:

  • Partner with people leaders on performance management, coaching, and employee development.
  • Address complex employee relations issues with professionalism and discretion.
  • Oversee the creation and execution of HR policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with employment laws and regulations.

Change Management:

  • Lead transformational change initiatives, focusing on enhanced employee engagement, retention, and performance.
  • Develop and implement communication plans to support change management and transformational change efforts.

Strategy & Execution:

  • Anticipate future trends and devise innovative talent strategies that improve operational outcomes and employee engagement.
  • Ability to influence, gain credibility quickly, and build collaborative relationships with peers and senior leaders.
  • Consult with partners on the effectiveness and efficiency of their processes and programs, assessing opportunities for transformation and developing creative solutions.

Project Management:

  • Act as the project manager for major initiatives, including the design, implementation, and strategy execution of project plans, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Utilize project management skills to effectively oversee HR initiatives and organizational change efforts.
  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to understand their needs, creatively assist in shaping and defining their vision, and develop executable plans
     

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3-5 years in a senior HR role.
  • 25% Travel
  • Proven ability to manage multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment.
  • Strong understanding of corporate business operations and the ability to align HR strategies with corporate business goals.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and build strong relationships at all levels.
  • Experience in handling confidential information, including employee data, programs, or strategic initiatives.
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Working knowledge of employment law, including FMLA, EEO, ADA, FLSA, etc.
  • A bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field is preferred.

Public Storage teammates are expected to work in the office five days each week with the option to take up to three flexible remote days per month.
