Engineering Manager, Infrastructure Platform

  • Full-time

Job Description

We’re looking for an Engineering Manager to join Procore’s Product & Technology Team. Procore software solutions aim to improve the lives of everyone in construction and the people within Product & Technology are the driving force behind our innovative, top-rated global platform. We’re a customer-centric group that encompasses engineering, product, product design and data, security and business systems.

As the Engineering Manager of our Platform Provisioning Team, you will lead a team of engineers in delivering Procore’s foundation - a secure, compliant, and cost-effective cloud platform. Your team will manage our cloud providers, enforce governance policies, and empower our teams to introduce changes to our cloud environment through Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform Cloud and Atlantis. You will also spearhead the development of an IaaS Control Plane - providing a declarative, extensible set of provider-agnostic APIs for cloud infrastructure.

You are action-oriented and experienced in navigating engineering trade-off decisions, balancing the need for iterative progress and maintaining velocity while managing technical debt. Working closely with the Product team and your peers, you'll drive strategic alignment and continual progress toward our multi-year goals. This role is essential to Procore’s strategy, empowering our engineering teams to deliver systems at scale across global and regulatory environments. If you have a passion for leading modern engineering practices and cultivating a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning, we'd love to speak with you!

This position will report to the Director of Infrastructure Platform and will be located in Austin, TX. We’re looking for someone to join our team immediately. Apply today to join our team of Groundbreakers!

What you’ll do:

  • Cloud Provider Management: Lead the team in managing relationships with cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP), ensuring optimal performance, cost-efficiency, and alignment with company goals.

  • Governance and Compliance: Establish and enforce governance policies to ensure that cloud infrastructure complies with security standards and regulatory requirements. Work closely with the security team to implement best practices.

  • Platform Development: Equip Procore's Platform Engineers with an extensible control plane and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tooling to deliver a declarative, extensible set of provider-agnostic APIs, enabling efficient management and deployment of cloud infrastructure.

  • Agile Leadership: Guide the team using Agile methodologies, implementing practices such as daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives to ensure iterative progress, flexibility, and continuous improvement.

  • Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of engineers, providing guidance and support to help them achieve their goals. Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning.

  • Project Management: Oversee project timelines, budgets, and deliverables, ensuring projects are completed on time and within scope. Coordinate with stakeholders to align project goals with company objectives.

  • Innovation and Research: Stay informed about the latest trends and technologies in cloud computing. Encourage the team to explore new tools and practices that can improve the efficiency and quality of the cloud infrastructure.

What we're looking for:

  • 5+ years of combined experience in Infrastructure, Platform, and/or Software Engineering

  • 1+ years of experience leading engineering teams

  • The ownership, humility, and grit required to make sweeping impacts across an organization without ego

  • Experience reducing the cognitive load on internal product teams by building platforms

  • Previous experience with compliance and regulatory requirements such as SOC2, SOX, FedRAMP/StateRAMP, CMMC, etc

  • Experience as a people leader with the ability to course-correct as needed

  • Experience with the following technologies:

    • Public cloud (AWS, GCP, Azure)

    • Cloud automation & IaC tooling (e.g., Terraform, Cloud Formation)

    • Kubernetes and manifest templating (e.g., Helm, Kustomize)

    • Continuous Integration Tooling (e.g., CircleCI, Jenkins, Github Actions, etc.)

    • Continuous Deployment Tooling (e.g., ArgoCD, Spinnaker)

    • REST API development
