- Full-time
- Job: Costume and Wardrobe Creative
Company Description
Are you ready to create something extraordinary?
Potters Resorts, known for our West End-quality shows, seeks a Costume & Wardrobe Lead with an eye for detail and a heart full of passion! This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in bringing our spectacular shows to life by managing the wardrobe function at our award-winning resorts.
Why This Role is Unique:
At Potters Resorts, we create three to four brand-new shows each year, each pushing the boundaries of creativity and performance. As our Costume & Wardrobe Lead, you’ll be hands-on and at the heart of the action, providing essential support to our Creative Show Producer. This role isn’t about managing people; it’s about being a true team player who is ready to dive in and support the creative process, ensuring every detail is perfect and every show is a triumph.
You will need to commute between our two resort locations regularly, so a willingness to travel is essential. Your presence at both Hopton-on-Sea and Five Lakes is vital to maintaining the consistency and quality of our productions.
Job Description
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Own the Wardrobe Function: Oversee the entire wardrobe process—from design and sewing to costume maintenance and storage—ensuring every piece is ready to shine on stage.
- Support the Creative Vision: Be a pillar of support for our Creative Show Producer, collaborating closely to bring costumes to life that elevate the storytelling and performance of our shows.
- Work directly with Performers: Collaborate with our two theatre companies and entertainers to ensure costumes look fantastic and fit perfectly. You'll be hands-on in fittings and adjustments, ensuring everyone feels confident and comfortable in their costumes.
- Lead by Example: Inspire and motivate others through your passion, commitment, and hands-on approach, becoming a role model for the wardrobe team.
- Organise and Persuade: Coordinate fittings, adjustments, and dress rehearsals with exceptional organisational skills and a collaborative mindset.
- Deliver Flawless Execution: Take responsibility for every stitch, hem, and detail, ensuring our West End-quality standards are consistently met.
- Be Ready to Jump In: Approach every challenge with a “can-do” attitude, ready to go above and beyond to support the creative process and our production team.
Working Hours:
This is a full-time role, working 40 hours, including some weekends. Flexibility is key to ensure every show is perfect!
Qualifications
What We’re Looking For:
- A True Passion for Wardrobe: Proven experience in wardrobe management, costume design, or a similar hands-on role where creativity meets precision.
- Master of the Craft: Expert sewing, costume repair skills, and a knack for making creative ideas come to life.
- Organised and Detail-Oriented: Strong organisational skills with the ability to juggle multiple priorities while maintaining the highest standards.
- A Natural People Person: Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively, bringing out the best in those around you without formal line management.
- Proactive and Adaptable: Thrives in a fast-paced environment, is solution-focused, and remains calm under pressure.
- Flexible and Mobile: A valid driving license and a willingness to regularly commute between our resorts are essential.
