The single corporate service is delivered across both organisation. You may be based at either IWT or PHU and individuals may be required to undertake business travel between sites. For leaders managing staff across multi-site locations, you will need to be visible and provide in person leadership. The arrangements and frequency will be agreed locally.

We are seeking a registered professional to join our Safeguarding Team in a Band 6 role, supporting the delivery of high‑quality safeguarding adults practice across the Trust. This is a key role, contributing to the protection of adults at risk and supporting staff to provide safe, effective, and person‑centred care.
You will provide specialist safeguarding advice and support to clinical and non‑clinical staff, ensuring safeguarding concerns are recognised early and managed appropriately in line with legislation, national guidance, and local policy. Working closely with colleagues across services and with partner agencies, you will contribute to a consistent, joined‑up approach to safeguarding adults across the organisation.
What you’ll do
- Support the delivery of safeguarding training, supervision, and awareness‑raising activities
- Provide professional advice and guidance on safeguarding adults concerns, including complex decision‑making and risk management
- Support staff with the identification, management, and escalation of safeguarding issues
- Support the implementation and embedding of safeguarding policies, procedures, and best practice
- Contribute to safeguarding audits, reviews, and learning activities, ensuring lessons are shared and embedded into practice
- Work collaboratively with multi‑agency partners across the Isle of Wight and wider system to promote effective information‑sharing and coordinated responses
- Promote a culture of safeguarding, professional curiosity, reflective practice, and continuous improvement

You will be able to work autonomously within your scope of practice while contributing positively as part of a supportive safeguarding team.

Qualifications

- Registered Nurse
- Qualification in Social Work
- Allied health professional Qualification i.e., Speech and Language Therapy, Specialist Dentistry, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy
- Evidence of ongoing professional development

- Post registration experience of safeguarding adults
Knowledge
Essential
- Knowledge of national and local safeguarding adult polices guidelines and recommendations
- Knowledge of relevant legislation relating to safeguarding adults
- Demonstrates knowledge of abuse and neglect
- Knowledge of the Local Authority Multi-Agency Safeguarding Adult Hub (MASH) agenda
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills
- Good IT skills, email, word and excel
- Presentation skills
- Ability to prioritise, work flexibly and to tight deadlines
- Completion of audits, reports, and chronologies
- Non judgemental and self motivated
