Job Description
We are looking for a Gastroenterology Research Technician within Research & Innovation. Based in the endoscopy department the role will include clinical activities such as checking vital signs. We are looking for someone with a technical knowledge of endoscopy and extensive previous experience of all the technical equipment used. If you are flexible, motivated and work well within a team, you will be perfect for us!
You will be responsible for supporting the day to day running of clinical trials from the National Institute of Health Research (NIHR) Portfolio and other commercial trials. In addition to providing assistance in the provision of specialised technical support within the endoscopy research setting, you will support the team to set up trials, identify eligible patients, receive consent for specified studies, arrange follow up visits, preparing clinics notes, data entry, maintain clinical trial records, preserving confidentiality and book transportation.
Part of the great role is actively recruiting patients in line with NIHR targets. There may be occasions when you will be asked to support other areas with the Trust to achieve these targets, depending on your skills and knowledge. Research experience is an advantage although this is not essential as development will be supported here at PHU.
The post holder will work in accordance with the Department of Health’s Research Governance Framework (DH 2001), the Medicines for Human Use (Clinical Trials) Regulations (SI 1031/2004 and later amendments) and other relevant regulations and guidelines. Good Clinical Practice (GCP) training will be given to the successful candidate. We are proud of our people here and offer a generous benefits package and excellent career opportunities to our employees here at PHU.
If you would like to be part of this dynamic research and innovation team and feel that you can fulfil this post, we would like to hear from you; Informal visits are highly recommended prior to application, please contact Research Nurse Michelle Baker Moffatt [email protected]
