We are currently recruiting for a Data Scientist to help develop the next evolution of the BetBuddy application. Our solution is a RegTech application that works in a data-rich environment and uses machine learning models to develop risk assessments of players.  
We promote an active learning culture with regular lunch and learn activities, agile methodologies, and the possibility to do research on new technologies that may be incorporated in to the BetBuddy application. Job Description

  • work closely with the business to identify issues and use data to propose solutions for effective decision making
  • use machine learning tools and statistical techniques to produce solutions to problems
  • create clear reports that tell compelling stories about how customers or clients work with the business
  • assess the effectiveness of data sources and data-gathering techniques and improve data collection methods
  • conduct research from which you'll develop prototypes and proof of concepts
  • look for opportunities to use insights/datasets/code/models across other functions in the organisation
  • have responsibility for the organisation's data science strategy
  • evaluate new and emerging technologies

  • Sift and analyse data from multiple angles, looking for trends that highlight problems or opportunities
  • Undertake pre-processing of structured and unstructured data
  • Analyse large amounts of information to discover trends and patterns
  • Build predictive models and machine-learning algorithms; Combine models through ensemble modelling
  • Present information using data visualization techniques
  • Collaborate with engineering and product development teams
  • Monitoring the performance of Junior Data Scientists and providing them with practical guidance, as needed.

Qualifications

  • M. Sc.in Data Science or B.Sc in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics with data science as relevant field of work
  • At least 5 years’ experience in Data Science related roles.
  • Proven experience as a Data Scientist or Data Analyst
  • Experience in data mining and warehousing
  • Fairly good knowledge of machine-learning tools and techniques.
  • In depth knowledge of SQL, Python and office automation tools
  • Knowledge of AWS Athena, AWS S3, Scala is preferable
  • Experience using business intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI etc.) and various big data frameworks
  • Strong math skills (including statistics, algebra)
  • Problem-solving aptitude
  • Excellent communication skills
