Job Description
Provide high-quality process support and technical leadership to the mill’s operations group resulting in improved product quality, productivity, and reduced costs.
Accountabilities
- Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives through data analysis and projects/events throughout the mill, and potentially at other Pixelle facilities
- Evaluate product improvement or cost optimization projects by conducting trials including development of trial plans and authoring trial reports
- Provide back up support to the Mill Improvement Process (MIP) Manager
- Develop process improvement project scopes, potential savings calculations, and project charter documents
- Improve productivity and reduce operating costs
- Provide technical support for key departments
- Provide problem solving and analytical skills and leadership
- Potential travel to other Pixelle facilities to provide support, training, and leadership for data analysis processes and projects
- Work safely
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering and/or Paper Science is preferred; however, a BS in other engineering disciplines will be considered.
- Experience in process engineering in an industrial setting preferred but not required or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Black Belt, Green Belt, or LSS project experience is preferred but not required
