Job Description
Role Purpose:
The Global Finance Director is responsible for leading the global finance function across People Can Fly, ensuring robust financial governance, operational excellence and strategic financial leadership across all international studios and legal entities.
As a member of the Executive Leadership Team, the role partners closely with the CEO and senior leaders to drive business performance, support sustainable growth and enable informed commercial decision-making. The position is accountable for global financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, treasury, statutory compliance, project financial management, financial controls, risk management and continuous improvement across the finance function.
This role requires a leader who is equally comfortable shaping financial strategy as they are engaging in the operational detail, fostering a culture of ownership, accountability and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Global Financial Leadership
- Lead the global finance function across all People Can Fly entities.
- Develop and execute the Group's financial strategy in partnership with the CEO.
- Provide strategic financial advice and commercial insight to the Executive Leadership Team.
- Establish and maintain robust financial governance, policies and internal controls.
- Ensure accurate, timely and consistent financial reporting across the Group.
Financial Planning & Analysis
- Lead annual budgeting, forecasting and long-range financial planning.
- Monitor studio and projects profitability, performance and financial health.
- Deliver executive dashboards, KPIs and actionable business insights.
- Support investment decisions, business cases and strategic initiatives.
Financial Operations
- Oversee Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, Treasury, General Ledger and Financial Reporting.
- Ensure timely month-end, quarter-end and year-end close processes.
- Drive consistency and best practice across all finance operations.
- Ensure effective project costing and financial reporting.
Compliance, Treasury & Risk
- Ensure compliance with IFRS, statutory, tax and regulatory requirements.
- Lead relationships with auditors, banks, tax advisors and regulatory authorities.
- Oversee global cash flow forecasting, liquidity and working capital.
- Manage financial risk, insurance and governance frameworks.
Systems & Continuous Improvement
- Champion continuous improvement across the global finance function, identifying opportunities to simplify, standardise and optimise processes.
- Evaluate, implement and leverage emerging technologies, including Artificial Intelligence (AI), automation and digital tools, to improve efficiency, reporting accuracy and decision-making.
- Drive initiatives that reduce manual effort, shorten reporting cycles and enable the finance team to focus on higher-value business partnering activities.
- Continuously review finance systems, workflows and controls to eliminate inefficiencies and enhance scalability across the organisation.
- Promote a culture of innovation, encouraging the adoption of modern technologies and data-driven ways of working.
- Own finance systems, reporting capabilities and data quality improvements.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, scalability and business performance.
Leadership
- Lead, coach and develop a high-performing global finance team.
- Promote collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement.
- Support recruitment, succession planning and capability development.

Qualifications
- Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related discipline.
- Professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CIMA, CPA or equivalent) preferred.
- 10+ years' senior finance leadership experience.
- Experience leading global finance teams (experience with multinational organisations is preferred)
- Strong knowledge of IFRS and international financial reporting.
- Strong experience in FP&A, treasury, budgeting and financial controls.
- Excellent commercial acumen, analytical capability and stakeholder management.
- Fluent English (written and spoken). Polish or French is a plus.
- Demonstrated experience leading finance transformation, process optimisation or digital transformation initiatives.
- Experience implementing automation, AI solutions or emerging technologies to improve finance operations and business performance.
- Proven ability to identify opportunities to reduce manual processes, improve reporting efficiency and deliver measurable productivity gains.
- Experience evaluating and implementing finance systems, reporting tools and business intelligence platforms.
- Strong understanding of how technology and data can enhance financial planning, reporting, forecasting and operational decision-making.
