Job Description

We are looking for a fully independent Legal Counsel - Generalist with employment law know-how, who will provide practical, business focused advice to every People Can Fly studio in Poland, the UK, Ireland, the US and Canada. Your remit spans the legal and operational issues that keep the People Can Fly running smoothly day to day: handling general corporate governance, drafting and negotiating civil law contracts with external suppliers and service providers, guiding HR on recruitment and employment matters.

In your work you should bring an open mind, solid legal knowledge, a strong work ethic and a full dedication. You should have the ability to cooperate with team members, to work with the teams across the organization as well as to operate independently. You should like developing, think logically and, occasionally, work well under pressure. Also, you should have good written, oral communication, and organizational skills.

What You’ll Do:

  • Draft and review a range of legal documents (such as commercial terms and contracts, corporate documents, letters/statements in court and administrative proceedings, internal procedures and policies, ongoing correspondence etc.).
  • Prepare and provide advice and legal drafting on company law matters for companies group members.
  • Cooperate with internal stakeholders to provide support for internal organization and daily functioning of the group, including financing, insurance; business contracts with external suppliers and service providers.
  • Draft, review and negotiate the full range of HR documentation: offers, employment and B2B contracts, settlements, terminations, internal regulations, policies and day-to-day correspondence.
  • Advise HR and Recruitment (in Poland and abroad) on recruitment, relocations, benefits, incentive plans and employee relations.
  • Verify and ensure compliance of legal documentation with internal policies, procedures and legal requirements.
  • Analyze business and legal conditions and the associated risks.
  • Prepare legal analysis and research for the needs of ongoing projects.
  • Monitor changes in the law applicable to the Group's activities and organization
  • Support other members of the Legal Team in their ongoing projects and tasks. Cooperate with members of other teams to identify, analyze and deliver the required legal support for the organization. Participate in internal team meetings as well as meetings with external contractors, as needed.
  • Coordinate and oversee external legal counsels in multiple jurisdictions when needed.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in law and attorney-at-law or advocate status.
  • 6+ years of combined experience in corporate/commercial and employment law (international law firm and/or in-house in an international organization preferred).
  • Working knowledge of civil, corporate and employment law.
  • Willingness to provide legal support for matters for internal organization and daily functioning of the group, including business contracts with external suppliers and service providers.
  • Legal drafting skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively (written and oral).
  • Advanced Polish and English (both written and spoken). Everyday work in English is expected.
  • Proven ability to work independently under time pressure, while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience in the video game and technology industry as well as being a gamer yourself will be an advantage, but is not necessary
