Job Description

Accountabilities

  • Provide CMO support to the APAC Life market.
  • Work collaboratively with other CMO’s within PartnerRe.
  • Identify and highlight emerging trends and developments in the incidence, detection, treatment, and prognosis of diseases and lifestyles, as they relate to life and health insurance. 
  • Provide medical support to the development and monitoring of products reinsured by PartnerRe.
  • Participate with an internal team to update and maintain PartnerRe’s underwriting philosophy in various manuals (PAR – Partner in the Assessment of Risk).
  • Review of facultative underwriting and claim cases as required.
  • Show industry leadership by participating in industry associations.
  • Create and make presentations internally and externally.
  • Develop content for publications in various media.
  • Participation on internal and external audits as required.

 

About you

  • Strong organizational skill.
  • Excellent communicator, including communicating medical topics to non-medical audiences.
  • Ability to work in a highly collaborative environment.
  • Willingness to learn underwriting practices in markets outside of Asia Pacific.
  • Able to manage multiple priorities and still meet stakeholder. deadlines.
  • Comfortable working in and with teams.
  • Willing to travel in Asia Pacific as required.

Qualifications

Readiness Qualifications and Experience Required

  • A qualified and licensed physician with comprehensive medical knowledge beyond own specialization and readiness to monitor continuously medical advances.
  • At least 5 years of clinical experience.
  • Greater than 10 years’ experience as a Medical Director in the Life, Critical Illness and Disability Insurance space, with demonstrated skill in supporting underwriting and claims.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Cantonese.
