Job Description
This position will be responsible for supporting the budget/forecasting function, interpreting and analyzing financial data relating to the various categories of Shared Services, and providing support to the FP&A management team.
Essential Functions:
- Assist in the development and preparation of annual budgets, monthly forecasts, and monthly reporting packages.
- Build and manage financial databases by analyzing a wide range of data sources.
- Create, manage, and communicate analytics & reporting dashboards to measure success through KPI's.
- Prepares analytical review and variance analysis of results against budgets and forecasts.
- Develop and maintain a good working relationship with both internal and external customers.
- Adhere to all Company policies and procedures.
- Other duties and special projects as assigned.
Additional Functions:
- Prepare monthly forecast updates for each product line, creating a link between the sales, operations, and administrative areas, guaranteeing challenging and realistic projections according to the behavior of the business.
- Prepare the annual budget for each product line, creating a link between the sales, operations, and administrative areas, guaranteeing challenging and realistic projections according to the behavior of the business.
- Upload the monthly forecast and annual budgets into HFM, guaranteeing their adequate distribution by product line, and in accordance with the approved figures.
- Conduct detailed monthly reviews of the P&L and Balance Sheet, analyzing key business indicators such as profitability, liquidity, efficiency and utilization, monitoring results vs. proposed objectives and identifying root causes of the main deviations in order to propose actions to take.
- Perform analysis of utilization indicators (Personnel and equipment) in order to identify inefficiencies and maximize resources.
- Identify at-risk accounts receivable and follow up with sales/customers to ensure overall reduction of accounts receivable and DIR
- Ensure compliance with the entire reporting process to headquarters related to their functions.
- Ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures in each of the business cycles and propose improvements.
- Identify internal control weaknesses, propose improvements and participate in their development.
- Identify and highlight improvements to increase cost efficiency.
- Participate in the development plans of the financial team.
- May participate in the process of internal and external audits with topics related to financial analysis including annual counts of fixed assets and inventories.
- Actively participate in the country's bidding processes, reviewing the contractual terms from a financial perspective and evaluating the corresponding impact on profitability margins.
- Conduct training for the team, administrative staff and operations staff.
- Analyze and control the capital investment process (CAPEX) and its corresponding update, as well as management of the preparation of the AFE template for the request of business resources.
- Ensure the proper presentation and analysis of monthly corporate closing reports.
- Evaluate and promote the automation of procedures and activities in the administrative and financial areas.
- Actively participate in HSEQ programs through disciplined thinking and action that allows for continuous strengthening and improvement.
- Comply with safety standards, requirements, policies, manuals, matrices and activities established or planned by HSEQ and by the company for safe and healthy work performance.
- Participate and comply with the company guidelines, internal regulations, manuals, standards, policies and activities established by our clients, to whom we provide our services, to achieve the proposed objectives.
- Comply with all standards, guidelines and procedures established or established by the company in order to align all its processes and regulatory compliance.
Qualifications
Necessary qualifications, skills and abilities
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- CPA and/or MBA a plus, but not required.
- Minimum 3 years of finance (including financial analytics) experience.
- Must have excellent analytical and interpersonal skills.
- Experience managing large data sets and building KPI dashboards.
- Hands-on experience with forecasting/budget processes.
- Excellent PC skills, including all MS Office products with extensive knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Hyperion/Essbase experience preferred.
- Financial modelling skills preferred.
- Power BI experience is desired.
- Highly driven, detail-oriented, and hard-working individual with high standards for self and others.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and able to effectively communicate in a professional manner with internal and external customers.
Additional qualifications, skills, and abilities
- 5 years of experience in the financial area, of which a minimum of 2 with specific experience in the area.
- Experience in the Drilling industry.
- Intermediate/Advanced English Preferred.
- Knowledge of financial planning, forecasting, and budgeting.
- Detailed analysis of the P&L and Balance Sheet.
- Preparation of management reports.
- SOX controls.
- Good oral and written communication.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
