Job Description
Essential functions
- Processes Company benefit transactions with accuracy and appropriate timeliness: enrollments, life events, 401(k), life and disability
- Ensures benefit plans and transactions are in accord with federal compliance provisions
- May assist in the planning of major Company benefit events, such as open enrolment, audits, health fairs
- Consults with employees and their dependents on eligibility and coverage for medical, dental, vision, group life, disability, 401(k) and other Company benefits and policies
- Coordinate with vendors to resolve employee discrepancies and/or transactions
- Ensures employee benefit deductions, contributions, accruals and vendor billing are accurate and documented
- Performs moderate analysis of data related to employee benefits and recommends courses of action
- Abide by Company policies and procedures.
- Other duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications
Necessary qualifications, skills and abilities
- High School diploma or GED
- Minimum of three years’ experience in employee benefits or related experience with increasing levels of responsibility
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Working knowledge of ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, HIPAA and IRS regulations affecting benefits
- Previous experience with HRIS systems and reporting
- Detail-oriented, self-starter and able to work with little supervision while maintaining goals/tasks.
- Good PC skills to include all MS Office products with extensive knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Good written and verbal communication skills and be able to communicate effectively
- Sound reasoning skills and have the ability to follow directions.
