About this opportunity
The primary purpose of the Electrician is to provide production support on plant machinery, including breakdown troubleshooting, project implementation, and continuous improvement initiatives. This role is part of a maintenance team covering 24-hour operations, 5 days a week, with additional support for weekend production as required
- Flexile afternoon or night shifts available - any times between 3pm - 6am
Your key responsibilities will be to:
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on electrical systems and equipment to ensure optimal operation.
- Maintain electrical controls of pneumatic and hydraulic systems, conveying and optical sorting systems, and Site services including, compressors, chillers, boilers.
- Drive continuous improvement of maintenance processes to support operational goals.
- Install new electrical systems and equipment as required
- Perform fault finding and troubleshooting on a range of specialized equipment, including PLC logic, SCADA, and IO troubleshooting.
- Perform Root Cause Analysis on all critical failures of plant and ensure action items derived are implemented and sustained
- Ensure all equipment complies with Australian Safety Standards and Safety Control Logic.
Your skills and experience
To be successful in this role, you’ll have:
- 5-10 years in a similar position
- Prior experience in latest technology and automation within a manufacturing environment
- General electrical troubleshooting, maintenance & repairs on manufacturing production lines
- Proven ability to problem solve for emergency maintenance and repair Solid understanding of PLC logic, SCADA, Siemens Safety control logic, and Australian Safety Standards.
- Understanding and working with Safety Systems and Standards, Omron, PIlz
- A team player with a positive, self-motivated and proactive attitude is essential.
- Able to read and understand ELD’s and P&ID’s
- Stock control of relevant electrical spare parts
Qualifications
- Relevant trade qualification as an A Class Electrician.
- Certification in electrical safety and compliance with Australian standards.
- Additional certifications in PLC programming and SCADA systems are advantageous
