Job Description

Salary Range: $125,000 - $148,000

Position Summary

The Head of Procurement and Planning Quick Connectors US will hire, train and manage procurement, component inventory management and the planning team for production.  This person would analyze and direct procurement expenditures, source strategic supply partners, develop sourcing policies, identify cost savings strategies and negotiated cost effective suppliers contracts while keeping a Zero Defect mentality.  Additional responsibilities include managing the evaluation of inventory and implementing control protocols to manage the development of production plant and adhere to required schedules.  This position works closely with Production, Sales & Operations Planning and Customer Service.

 

Essential Functions 

 

  • Act as a company representative while negotiating contracts and supplier policies. Liaison with suppliers.
  • Ensure materials and products are received on time and intact, and in the quality and at the cost agreed upon with the supplier.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain KPIs, policies, procedures, and material control systems to reduce costs, streamline procedures, and implement solutions.
  • Oversee the process to maintain correctly balanced inventory levels on all purchased material and supplies to prevent out of stock conditions and cash flow problems.
  • Establish and maintain the production control system.
  • Develop and implement solutions to problems potentially affecting the flow of material and support of customers.
  • Work closely with finance/accounting on matters involving inventory carrying costs.
  • Manage and facilitate the enhancement of improved communication and smooth interface between departments and individuals regarding plans, programs or problems.
  • Manage scheduling function to balance desired ending inventory levels, production rates and supplier forecast to meeting targeted KPI's.
  • Develop and provide leadership to the Purchasing & Planning personnel in effectively utilizing:

(a) Production Schedule to properly plan and provide the required level of finished goods,

(b) Planning system to ensure the availability of all materials components necessary to produce the finished products, and

(c) Ensures the availability of materials in the supply chain, as scheduled, and the maintenance of inventory at minimum acceptable levels.

Qualifications

Education / Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, or Supply Chain Management or equivalent with 7+ years of experience in supply chain management, materials management or planning management.
  • Preferred APICS certification
  • Preferred SAP Experience
