Position Summary
Maintains and repairs production equipment on all levels, keeping down time to a minimum. Also provides a safe working environment and practices safe working habits.
Essential Functions
- Repairs various mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems and components (e.g. cylinders, valves, drives, etc.) installed on production machines
- Troubleshoots and diagnoses problems and or failures of automated equipment and initiates repair
- Adjusts and replaces various electrical sensors used for proper operation of assembly machine
- Performs preventative maintenance and cleaning of equipment on special runs to ensure safe reliable operation and makes suggestions for improvement
- Performs machine changeovers and replaces tooling as needed
- Opens/closes facility; start up/shut down equipment
- Uses metal working equipment such as powered hand tools, calipers, micrometers, and dial indicators
- Handles some spill responses and pest control as needed
- Changeover to generator power in emergency situations
- Rigging and moving of machinery as needed
- Reads and interprets equipment manuals, drawings and schematics
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, electrical, and operation of automated equipment required
- Effective communication skills required
- Forklift and scissor lift certifications required
- Welding and machinery experience a plus
Education / Experience
- Associate’s Degree or equivalent from a two-year Technical school w/ 2 years’ experience repairing automated equipment OR a minimum of a HSD and 6 years’ experience repairing automated equipment required
- 3-5 years’ manufacturing industry experience preferred
Additional Information
This is a 2nd Shift position with regular hours starting at 2:00pm and ending at 10:30pm
