Job Description

Purpose of the Job

You will be responsible for delivering accurate accounting and financial reporting for a portfolio of private funds. You'll ensure all client deliverables are completed on time, in line with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and Ocorian's service commitments.

Main Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day accounting for assigned funds, including journal entries, general ledger maintenance, bank reconciliations, and partner capital account allocations.
  • Prepare capital call and distribution notices, investor reports, capital account statements, and fund performance calculations.
  • Produce financial statements and related disclosures in accordance with US GAAP, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable accounting standards.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of assigned fund structures, transactions, and reporting requirements to ensure timely delivery of client outputs.
  • Build strong relationships with clients, investors, auditors, and other professional advisers, responding to queries and supporting reporting and audit deadlines.
  • Support the completion of audits and ensure all regulatory, statutory, and compliance obligations are met.
  • Contribute to process improvements, internal controls, and the ongoing development of team procedures and best practices.
  • Undertake other duties appropriate to the role as required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related discipline.
  • CPA, ACCA, ACA, CIMA, or Master's degree is advantageous but not essential.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Previous experience in fund accounting, or a similar accounting role.
  • Strong accounting knowledge, including an understanding of financial reporting principles and US GAAP.
  • Advanced Excel skills and confidence using financial systems and technology.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with clients and colleagues.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Well-organised, able to manage competing priorities, and deliver to deadlines.
  • Proactive, adaptable, and able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Continuous improvement mindset with a commitment to delivering high-quality client service.
