Job Description

Purpose of the job

To accurately process accounting records and be trained to prepare simple financial statements and management accounts in accordance with the designated accounting framework(s).

Main Responsibilities

In this role, you will support the delivery of high-quality accounting services to a diverse portfolio of clients. 

  • You will prepare and post bookkeeping entries, accounts payable and receivable transactions, loan transactions and bank postings, ensuring all records are accurate and maintained within agreed deadlines.
  • You will perform bank, investment and other balance sheet reconciliations, promptly investigating and resolving any discrepancies.
  • You will assist with the preparation of VAT returns, basic tax filings, management accounts and annual financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards.
  • You will maintain and update supplier, loan and accounting records, ensuring client data is accurate, complete and up to date.
  • You will provide accounting and bookkeeping support to colleagues across the Client Accounting team and contribute to ad hoc projects and process improvement initiatives.
  • You will deliver accounting services to clients across multiple jurisdictions, building strong working relationships and ensuring a high standard of client service.
  • You will take ownership of the quality, accuracy and timeliness of your work, ensuring all deliverables meet Ocorian's standards and client expectations.
  • You will protect the confidentiality, integrity and availability of information at all times and comply with Ocorian's information security policies, procedures and guidelines.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Completed ACCA Level 2 and/or hold a degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years' accounting experience, with a strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
  • Ability to learn and work with accounting systems such as NAV, Viewpoint and Value Financials.
  • Understanding of, or willingness to develop knowledge of, UK GAAP, IFRS and other relevant accounting frameworks.
  • Strong communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.
  • A proactive team player who is ambitious, adaptable and eager to learn and take on new challenges.
