Purpose of the Role
The role holder will support the GHoR (Global Head of Risk) in undertaking ERM-focused activities as needed across all the client service lines (Global Funds, Corporate, Private Clients and Capital Markets) the Risk team supports.
This is a complex role whilst the business matures its ERM framework and develops its risk culture across the Group. You will work with the GHoR to achieve understanding and buy-in from stakeholders, meaning it will be important to develop strong partnerships with other members of the executive and at operational levels in the business.
Main responsibilities
- Devise and create targeted risk awareness training materials. This will be a blend of modules hosted on Grow as well as delivering face to face (or via Teams) learning.
- To support the GHoR in performing risk assessments and/or “deep dives” as required, sharing output and tracking progress on any remedial actions.
- To act as an SME (subject matter expert) for Group’s online risk repository tool (From Q4 2024- Protecht) and address user queries as they arise.
- To act as an SME for the Group’s preferred risk assessment methodology and promote is usage across the Group – for example encouraging use within the Business Risk Assessments produced across the Group, typically overseen by Compliance.
- To act as a key relationship point between Ocorian and Protect and escalate any issues as required.
- To develop and maintain MI reporting and trackers for the business at Group and local level for Senior Management and Committees. For example the monthly errors, losses and fines reporting.
- Support the GHoR with the ongoing implementations of the enterprise risk management framework as required. For example writing/reviewing Group Policy statements as they relate to Risk.

Qualifications
Knowledge/skills/experience
- Deep experience of risk management (e.g. risk assessment, risk governance, reporting, policies and appetite) with proven record of successful delivery.
- Strong analytical and communication skills.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills and ability to produce accurate MI decks to deadlines for a senior audience.
- Knowledge of supporting risk management systems (such as Protecht or similar) would be beneficial.
- Ability to manage stakeholder expectations and work to fixed deadlines
- Strong report writing and presentation skills to convey the findings of reviews and provision of reports to senior management
- Ability to think about solutions to problems and present them in a clear, articulate manner
- Excellent attention to detail and the requirement to produce documentation to a high standard
- An enquiring and analytical mind with excellent investigative skills and the ability to identify and question
- Good time management with the ability to work in an orderly way, as well as the ability to work under pressure and plan ahead to achieve deadlines set, delivering agreed tasks on time
- Able to take responsibility for workload and priorities
