As the result of an internal promotion we now have an exciting job vacancy to lead the Supply Chain & Procurement function for our New Zealand operations. This role provides strategic leadership and operational oversight of the function, including procurement, sourcing, contract administration, inventory management, warehousing, logistics, materials planning and supplier performance management.

The role is accountable for delivering sustainable commercial value, supply assurance, inventory optimisation and operational excellence while maintaining robust governance, risk management and compliance standards. Through strong stakeholder engagement, effective leadership and continuous improvement, the position ensures the reliable, efficient and cost-effective supply of goods and services that support safe, productive and sustainable operations across Waihi and Macraes.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities.

• Collaborate with Group Procurement to implement enterprise procurement strategies, category plans and sourcing initiatives within New Zealand operations.
• Identify and deliver sustainable commercial value through strategic sourcing, supplier collaboration, demand management, inventory optimisation and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Lead business improvement programmes that enhance service levels, reduce total cost of ownership, optimise working capital and improve supply chain resilience.
• Monitor market conditions, supplier risks and industry developments to proactively manage supply challenges and opportunities, working with Group Procurement to leverage market intelligence and supplier insights.
• Provide strategic commercial advice and support to operational leaders on procurement, contracting, inventory and supply chain matters.
• Partner with Group Procurement on sourcing, tendering and contract management activities, ensuring local requirements are effectively represented, and enterprise procurement opportunities are maximised.
• Develop and maintain strategic supplier relationships, working collaboratively with Group Procurement to improve supplier performance, commercial outcomes, innovation and supply assurance.
• Ensure effective management of transportation, logistics and warehousing activities to support operational requirements.
• Lead inventory optimisation initiatives to improve asset availability while managing working capital effectively.
• Ensure effective materials planning processes are maintained to support operational reliability and minimise stock-outs.
• Ensure compliance with OceanaGold Group Standards, policies, delegations of authority and governance frameworks.
• Maintain effective procurement controls, audit readiness and assurance processes across all Procurement & Supply Chain activities.
• Ensure compliance with applicable legal, regulatory and contractual obligations.
• Identify and manage commercial, operational and supply chain risks through appropriate controls and mitigation strategies.
• Support internal and external audit activities and implement actions arising from audit findings.
• Lead, coach and develop a geographically dispersed team across Procurement, Warehousing, Inventory & Materials Management and Contract Administration functions.
• Demonstrate visible safety leadership and actively promote a culture where safety is prioritised in all activities and decisions.

• A tertiary qualification in Logistics / Distribution / Supply Chain Management or similar is preferred. 
• Full and Current Driver Licence, ability to drive manual vehicles is preferred.            
• Previous management and supervisory experience is required.
• A minimum of 7 years of managing purchasing, warehousing and logistics is required.
