Job Description
The Didipio mine is located on Luzon Island in the Philippines and is the Company’s only asset that produces both gold and copper. Didipio was built by OceanaGold in 2013 and operates fully as underground mine, with over 800 employees that support the mine.
OceanaGold is seeking a suitably qualified, experienced, and reliable Specialist - Maintenance Planning (Short-Term), who will be:
- Responsible for planning and executing short-term scheduled plans for all equipment maintained by the department for both surface and underground
- Responsible for maintaining a Zero-Injury workplace environment
- Responsible for the development and implementation of short-term maintenance strategies for all equipment maintained by the department for both surface and underground
- Ensures quality services are delivered on time, within budget and sets team objectives that are aligned with OceanaGold's Values and Visions
- Focuses on efficient scheduling and execution of planned maintenance activities to minimize equipment downtime and maximize operational uptime.
- Collaborates with maintenance teams to ensure effective execution of short-term maintenance plans.
- Contributes to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the maintenance department by ensuring timely completion of planned maintenance tasks.
This role reports to the Superintendent - Maintenance (Planning)
Key tasks and responsibilities:
- Short-term maintenance schedules, considering production requirements, resource availability, and
- priorities.
- Monitors and adjusts schedules in real-time to accommodate emergencies, breakdowns, and changing priorities
- Monitors work order completion rates and identifies improvement opportunities for scheduling efficiency
- Conducts periodic reviews of the work order backlog to identify and address potential bottlenecks.
- Monitors and manages inventory levels for critical spare parts and consumables required for short-term maintenance activities
- Analyzes performance data to identify trends, root causes, and areas for improvement.
- Implements corrective and preventive actions to address performance gaps and enhance short-term maintenance effectiveness.
- Develop and implement continuous improvement plans to address identified gaps.
Qualifications

Educational Background:
- Graduate of Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
Work Experience and Background:
- At least 2 years of hands-on experience in maintenance planning or engineering within the metals and mining industry or a similar heavy sector environment.
Specialization/License:
- Licensed Mechanical Engineer or related engineering field.
- Professional Driver's Licensed
