OceanaGold is seeking a suitably qualified, experienced, and reliable Consultant – Project Manager (Primary Ventilation Upgrade Project) to directly manage the delivery of the primary ventilation upgrade project from initiation to close-out, including coordination of engineering, design and estimation inputs, preparation of project management documentation, identification and management of project risks, provision of schedule and cost performance data to project controls, timely resolution of emerging risks and issues during project delivery and completion of all quality control / assurance and project close-out documentation. This role reports to Manager – Capital Projects.
Job Description
The Didipio mine is located on Luzon Island in the Philippines and is the Company’s only asset that produces both gold and copper. Didipio was built by OceanaGold in 2013 and operates fully as underground mine, with over 800 employees that support the mine.
Key tasks and responsibilities
- Maintain a visible presence in the field whilst on-site by completing minimum thrice-weekly Critical Control Verifications (CCVs) and/or Task Observations with direct reports and peers from the Project Development and Construction teams
- Establish and maintain systems that ensure that design works for the primary ventilation upgrade project are carried out using the appropriate risk management tools including FRA’s, HAZOP’s, CHAZOP’s, SIL Studies, Design and Constructability Reviews
- Provide leadership, coaching, and direction to the Project Engineers allocated to the Primary Ventilation Upgrade project, ensuring clarity of roles, responsibilities, and performance expectations.
- Create an environment of collaboration between Project Execution Engineers and the Engineering and Construction teams to support delivery of project goals and establish and maintain systems that foster cross-functional collaboration
- Establish and maintain systems that ensure project documentation is prepared for all phases of project delivery including Concept Studies, User Requirement Specifications (URS), Scope of Work (SoW) and Project Execution Plan (PEP)
- Accountable for the maintenance of Quality Management Documentation for projects under management in accordance with the Quality Management Plan including Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), Field Inspection Checklists (FICs) and Field Test Record (FTR) documents.
- Accountable for ensuring that QAQC data and documentation is compiled into structured handover packs for each project under management and ensuring these handover packs are document controlled at the end of each work package / project
- Undertake a program of continuous improvement across all areas of accountability

Technical Skills:
- Advanced user of MS office suite.
- Advanced user of Ecosys software (training will be provided).
Knowledge:
- Knowledge of construction methods, processes, sequencing and technical standards.
- Knowledge of the OGP capital approval process and PMF.
Experience:
- 10+ years’ experience in project delivery within heavy industry.
Education, Qualifications, Tickets, Licences:
- Bachelor’s degree in an engineering field.
- Project management qualifications (desirable)
