Job Description

Our Macraes Open Pit Workshop stores team are on the search for a dedicated and reliable Stores Person. Reporting to the Supply Chain Supervisor, this role is responsible for the storage, issue and receipting of warehouse stock, spares and consumables for our busy Open Pit Workshop based at Macraes, Otago.

Work a 7 days on / 7 days off, 12hr shift roster, within a positive team environment where knowledge is shared and training is provided. On the job support and mentoring goes hand in hand with the experience you will bring to this stores role.

Key tasks and responsibilities:

  • Inventory control - receiving, issuing, storage, inward/outward shipping of supply
  • Daily and rolling stock takes, accurately recording levels
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment
  • Operating the forklift in a safe and efficient manner
  • Housekeeping of the warehouse and remote yards in a safe, clean and tidy condition
  • Comply with all safety requirements, company policies and procedures
  • Data entry and processing of invoices in Pronto
  • Supply of goods and materials in a timely manner
  • Employ best practice inventory management and logistics processes.

Qualifications

  • Applicants must be eligible to work in New Zealand
  • Hold a full, class 1 Drivers licence
  • Competent and confident operating a forklift - F licence is preferred

Experience:

  • Previous experience in warehousing, logistics or parts within a mining sector beneficial
  • Computer literacy is essential (experience with Excel and Pronto or SAP very beneficial)
  • Qualification relating to warehousing or logistics highly regarded
  •  A high level of accuracy in stock taking and data entry
  • A high degree of safety awareness
  • Demonstrated experience providing solutions to problems
  •  A self-driven, results and improvement orientated approach
  • The ability to communicate within a team environment.
  • Stock take of inventory and participation in continuous improvement initiatives well regarded
