Job Description
Are you a talented Communications and Engagement Advisor keen to work within New Zealand's largest gold mine? Apply now and support the Macraes Operation External Affairs and Social Performance team to deliver its communications and engagement work program.
5 on / 2 off / 4 on / 3 off roster with a 3-day weekend every fortnight. 7:00am -4:30pm daily, based at Macraes Mine.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Develop clear, engaging written content for internal and external audiences, including articles, newsletters, announcements, website copy, and promotional materials.
- Work closely with subject matter experts across site to identify stories, gather information, and translate technical or operational updates into accessible communications.
- Produce and edit multimedia content—including photos, graphics, and short‑form videos—for use across digital platforms.
- Collaborate with departments to facilitate information flow, ensuring employees remain informed about operational, safety, and community developments.
- Support delivery of timely and informative internal communications, including site updates, internal newsletters, and leadership messages.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with local community groups, schools, iwi, and other stakeholders involved in the Macraes Social Investment program.
- Develop stories, case studies, and digital content that highlight the impact of the program and strengthen OceanaGold’s community presence.
- Track and report on program outcomes, ensuring transparency and consistent communication with key stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Degree or relevant qualifications in Communications or Design related fields
- Full and Current Driver Licence
- Current New Zealand work eligibility / NZ work Visa is required
Experience:
- Ideally 2 years+ in a similar role, with ability to comfortably carry out tasks and responsibilities as required
- Experience with InDesign, Photoshop and/or Canva highly regarded
