Job Description

The Open Pit Mine Operations crew at Macraes are currently looking for a Mine Operator - Driller, to join their team. Previous drilling experience would be beneficial, however this role is open to anyone with the right attitude and willingness to learn.

The position available is working on a 50/50 roster pattern: 7 days on, 7 days off; 7 nights on 7 days off.

Key tasks and responsibilities:

  • Operate either a variety of top-hole hammer blasthole drill rigs or Sandvik D45KS rotary drills
  • Ensure safe and efficient operation of equipment at all times
  • Achieve agreed production and personal objectives
  • Carry out pre-start and post operational checks as required

Qualifications

  • Hold Immediate NZ Working rights / Visa 
  • Hold a full, clean, current driver’s license and are confident driving a manual vehicle
  • Be able to confidently communicate within a team environment
  • Drilling experience beneficial
  • Have an interest in heavy machinery
  • Be a safety conscious individual committed to maintaining an excellent safety record
  • Pass a pre-employment medical including drug and alcohol testing
