Job Description

The Clinical Dietitian License Pending reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organizations Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards. - This Inpatient Clinical Dietitian position reports to the Nutrition Manager in the Department they were hired. This position utilizes the Nutrition Care Process to provide current and evidenced based nutrition assessments, interventions, and monitoring and evaluating. This position actively has open communication with physicians, nurses, therapies, discharge planners and patients. This position requires an active learner, someone that exemplifies the Centegra Values and passion for Inpatient Clinical Dietetics. - Incumbents in this role have three months from date of hire to become a Registered Dietitian and six months to be licensed by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulations Description - Responsible for checking in and maintaining daily workload. - Develops a Medical Nutrition Therapy Care Plan utilizing the Nutrition Care Process. - Participates in daily multidisciplinary unit rounds. - Participates as a member of the nutrition support team. - Tracks daily productivity and enters information daily into Group Productivity Log. - Attends MD, site and interdisciplinary meetings as directed. - Partners with the Inpatient CNM to conduct hospital wide education as appropriate. - Assists with the learning process of dietetic interns, diet tech interns, undergraduate volunteers, and high school shadow students. - Responsible for being a primary clinical preceptor of 1-2 Dietetic Intern Students per year within 1 year of hire. - Participates in Quality Initiatives.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Baccalaureate Degree in Dietetics or Dietetics Related Field.
  • Graduate of an Accredited Dietetic Internship or Coordinate Program recognized through the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
  •  Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
