Job Description

The Manager Neurodiagnostics and DME reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.

Effectively manages the operation of the Neurodiagnostics Lab and Sleep Lab. Oversees the staff schedule to ensure that staffing is adequate for the volume of patients. Is responsible for staff communication, training and development, competencies, coaching, evaluation, and counseling. Assists Director with productivity planning and budgeting. Ensures that patient safety, satisfaction, and quality of care are kept at the highest standards. Facilitates continuous process improvement

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Monitors and analyzes expenditures and revenues for areas of improvement and makes recommendations for change, and implements new processes.
  • Facilitates team meetings and process improvement teams.
  • Promotes hospital-community relationships and participates in community affairs.
  • Assists Director in planning and implementation of new services start up and growth.
  • Enhances professional growth and development through participation at in-services, meetings/educational programs, and departmental performance improvement activities, and by referencing resource materials and publications.
  • Responds to all patient, physician, employee, family, and visitor concerns using service recovery in a prompt manner as required.
  • Provides timely, pertinent communication to department coordinators and staff members on all shifts.
  • Insures continual JCAHO readiness along with compliance with federal and state regulatory commission requirements.
  • Sets clear expectations and insures that members understand their roles on the team through performance evaluation process.
  • Encourages and provides opportunities for staff members to participate in learning opportunities to the advancement of clinical practice.
  • Serves as a resource person for staff and other hospital personnel.
  • Collaborates with Director for staff recognition opportunities.
  • Performs all aspects of daily work in a manner that contributes to and ensures an environment of patient safety and confidentiality that reduces the likelihood of medical/healthcare errors.
  • Demonstrates the ability to be flexible, organized, and to function well in stressful situations. Serves as a role model and coach to others; builds partnerships and teamwork.
  • Communicates appropriately and clearly to administration, physicians, nursing staff, support staff, and patients/families, and customers.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Prior experience as a Neurodiagnostic Tech IV or Polysomnograph Tech II
  • CPR-BLS
  • Understands legal aspects and how they relate to the patient, hospital, and staff. Problem-solves by developing creative solutions in a team environment.
