Job Description

The AP Systems Analyst reflects the mission, vision, and values of Northwestern Medicine, adheres to the organization's Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.

The AP Systems Analyst will have primary responsibility for the design, development, and execution of NM’s AP analytics program. The Analyst will work with various teams throughout Procurement, Finance, and the organization to learn relevant business processes and systems, assess current and proposed reporting requirements and recommend and deliver relevant solutions in support of business objectives. This role requires a self-motivated person who adapts quickly to new technologies and interacts well in a team environment. 

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the development, analysis, maintenance and ongoing proactive improvement of Accounts Payable metrics and reports for the division and the organization.
  • Effectively identifies and communicates relationships between AP metrics and business objectives to internal and external customers. 
  • Develops a process for collecting and understanding business requirements to manage and complete ad hoc and ongoing requests for AP data. 
  • Identifies and implements improvements in systems and processes to ensure timely, accurate, and relevant capture of data. 
  • Utilizes internal and external benchmarking tools to evaluate performance and identifies opportunities for improvement. 
  • Serves as Project Improvement Leader where appropriate and assists in developing and monitoring project metrics and results. 
  • Creates and maintains data definitions, documentation and training material for NM’s AP analytics program. 
  • Maintains advanced proficiency in MS Excel, Access, Query and other report writing and delivery technologies. 
  • Stays abreast of industry trends, best practices and new technologies to inform NM’s AP analytics program.

 

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or relevant experience in lieu of Bachelor’s Degree
  • 3+ years of experience in reporting and data analysis. 
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Access and PowerPoint skills. 
  • Strong analytical acumen, research capabilities and ability to find flaws within data. 
  • Excellent organizational, project management and time management skills. 

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Statistics Accounting or Finance. 
  • Experience with PeopleSoft AP and Query or other similar data and reporting systems. 
  • Able to work with cross functional teams, including both Business and IT teams
  • Familiar with business intelligence tools such as Tableau
