Job Description

POSITION HOURS: 11:00am-7:30pm 

The Pharmacy Technician, Controlled Substance reflects the mission, vision, and values of NMHC, adheres to the organizations Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.

We are seeking a Certified Pharmacy Technician for this particular opening to monitor, optimize, and maintain departmental automated dispensing cabinet systems functionality to assure proper controlled substance use.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides pharmacy services and assistance under the supervision of a pharmacist.
  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
  • Refills and maintains automated dispensing systems.
  • Fills medication carts on a daily basis.
  • Prepares orders and maintains inventory for the pharmacy department.
  • Repackages bulk medications.
  • Provides pharmacy services and assistance under the supervision of a pharmacist.
  • Prepares IV admixtures solutions, correctly labeling all solutions for patient use

Qualifications

Required:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • LIC PHARMT: Illinois licensure as a Pharmacy Technician.

Preferred:

  • 1 year of experience in a hospital setting.
  • CPhT: Certification as a Pharmacy Technician
