Job Description

To serve as an access point resource for physicians, staff, and patients. To assist with the recommendation for the most appropriate level of care and patient status. To apply approved criteria and guidelines in decision making, as well as payers, such as managed care, rules and practices. To ensure a smooth admission experience for patients by coordinating clinical needs with operational processes and insurance benefits.

Qualifications

Required: Associate's degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred. Current RN license in the state of Illinois. At least 3-5 years of experience in patient care experience in a hospital setting, experience in utilization management activities (e.g. review and assessing for meeting medical necessity criteria and appropriate status), admissions and discharge planning and/or case management.
