Job Description

Norco is currently seeking an individual to fill our Medical Service Technician position. The Medical Service Technician services various types of medical equipment in efficient, accurate manner.. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Repair and perform preventive maintenance on various types of medical equipment
  • Perform functional testing on various types of medical equipment
  • Re-certify medical equipment to Accreditation Body standards
  • Prepare written documentation that serviced equipment meets Accreditation Body standards.
  • Clean/disinfect serviced medical equipment
  • Package serviced medical equipment for shipping and place tag on equipment showing it is ready for patient use
  • Enter service orders into computer
  • Research maintenance records on computer
  • Communicate with customers, vendors, co-workers and management re: servicing of equipment
  • Adhere to all established procedures, policies and safety rules
  • Perform other tasks as assigned or necessary

Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Possess ability to repair, maintain, clean and package various types of medical equipment
  • Possess strong mechanical skills
  • Stand for extended periods of time
  • Accurately enter data into computer
  • Read repair orders, manuals, computer screen, etc.
  • Communicate information accurately by telephone and in person using good customer service skills
  • Complete tasks and solve problems independently with little supervision
  • Lift equipment from floor to work bench weighing up to 50 lbs. on a frequent basis
  • Ability to lift beds weighing over 100 lbs
  • Work in environment with fumes, odors, dust, gas and poor ventilation
  • Ability to perform tasks requiring manual dexterity (e.g. grasp, push, pull, lift, use hand and power tools, etc.)
