Job Description
The Line Up Producer works alongside the QTQ pilot to oversee the nightly broadcast of NBN’s 6.00pm bulletin. Serving as the vital link between NBN and QTQ, the Line Up Producer communicates with Newcastle-based producers and talent to ensure a seamless broadcast while providing a final layer of scrutiny before content goes to air. They manage the rundown, verify production line-by-line, and collaborate with the pilot and EP to make key editorial calls during the live broadcast.
Day to day you will:
- Collaborate with the Executive Producer and Pilot to structure the nightly rundown.
- Manage MOS IDs and update rundown commands as the news cycle evolves.
- Conduct final quality checks on scripts, supers, spelling, and overlay accuracy.
- Resolve technical or editorial issues instantly during live broadcasts.
- Maintain clear communication with on-air talent and production teams in the gallery.
- Build and manage complex rundowns within the ENPS environment.
- Foster a collaborative, safe, and professional team culture under deadline pressure.
Qualifications
What you'll bring:
- A degree in Journalism or equivalent experience in a live control room.
- Familiarity with ENPS and AVID/Velocity editing systems is highly regarded.
- Superior written and verbal communication skills with a focus on accuracy.
- A collaborative mindset with the ability to build strong professional relationships.
- Exceptional adaptability and the poise to change course on short notice.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and quality control in live media.
