Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Workday Implementation Payroll Lead to play a key role in our Workday HCM implementation.
This individual will be responsible for representing Payroll in all implementation workshops, ensuring payroll requirements are communicated and delivered against, making real-time design decisions as they relate to payroll, resolving issues, and escalating critical concerns to the Head of Payroll as needed.
The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of best-practice payroll processes, experience supporting an HCM system implementation, and a business improvement mindset.
Key Responsibilities:
Be the Payroll representative in all Workday implementation workshops and project meetings.
Provide expert input on payroll requirements, ensuring they align with business needs and best practices.
Work with the Head of Payroll to make informed decisions on behalf of Payroll in real time, considering compliance, efficiency, and business impact.
Identify, analyse, and resolve payroll-related issues during the Project.
Collaborate with P&C, Finance, Technology, and external consultants to ensure seamless integration of payroll and Workday.
Escalate critical issues to the Head of Payroll and relevant stakeholders as required.
Support payroll data migration, validation, and testing to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Update documentation of payroll process workflows to reflect future state processes, as required.
Train and support payroll team members on new processes and system changes.
Qualifications
Required Skills & Experience:
Experience using Chris21
Extensive experience in payroll operations, with a strong understanding of best-practice payroll processes.
Prior experience working on an HCM implementation project, preferably Workday.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make decisions under pressure.
Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams.
Strong analytical and process improvement mindset.
Experience with payroll data migration and system testing.
Understanding of compliance and regulatory payroll requirements.
Ability to communicate complex payroll requirements in a clear and concise manner.
Nice to have:
Experience working in the Media industry would be advantageous
Experience in an ASX-listed company
Workday Payroll experience or certification is a plus
Knowledge of payroll-related integrations with HCM and financial systems.
