Job Description

Department/Team Overview
The Infrastructure team is responsible for the design, implementation and support of IT Infrastructure across the Nine business.  This includes cloud, servers, storage, backup, Active Directory, security, O365 and operating system software.

Position Overview
The Infrastructure Technical Lead is responsible for contributing to the design, implementation and support of Nine’s Infrastructure, compute, storage, virtualisation and O365 environment. They help to standardise infrastructure, providing strategic coordination as well as tactical governance.  The role involves designing solutions in line with the organisations strategic goals and technology roadmap, working collaboratively with others. This includes but is not limited to cloud, server, compute, storage, business tools and services.

Role Responsibilities

  • Contributing to the architecture, design and implementation of Nine’s Infrastructure, compute, storage, Virtualisation, Directory Services, O365 environment for all of Nine’s sites;
  • Provide technical advice or technical leadership where required to support various IT related projects throughout Nine;
  • Design Infrastructure solutions for high availability, resiliency, integrity and security;
  • Perform project delivery functions ensuring the successful implementation of new systems, platforms and upgrades;
  • Review existing systems & platforms and recommend changes and improvements to take advantage of best of breed technology solutions;
  • Research and keep abreast of emerging technologies and recommend innovative solutions to ensure technology sustainability;
  • Quality assurance and documentation of the Nine infrastructure architecture;
  • Hands-on configuration of Nine managed systems;
  • Document and manage Change Management requirements in line with standard IT Change Management procedures;
  • Mentor, document and hand over systems to the Infrastructure Operations team for support;
  • Act as a 3rd level support escalation;
  • Ensure that IT Systems meet, and endeavour to exceed, the agreed Service Levels;
  • Be proactive in looking for opportunities on how IT can improve its Service Delivery;
  • Projects delivered on time, on budget and to required quality (stakeholder expectations);Provide after-hours support;
  • Other duties as reasonably required.

Qualifications

Essential Experience & Skills

  • Experience with providing technical Infrastructure leadership across large enterprises;
  • Sound technical knowledge and experience in the development of infrastructure architecture and standards;
  • Extensive experience working in large complex technology environments;
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering effective infrastructure solutions;
  • Extensive experience with servers, compute, storage, operating systems and backup solutions;
  • Extensive experience with Windows Server 2003-2016, Active Directory, VMware 6.X, MS Exchange online, SharePoint, SCCM, Azure AD, Office 365, Backups, Storage, DNS, PKI, Citrix XenApp;
  • Strong scripting skills (PowerShell, bash, etc.);
  • Experience with security (server hardening, two factor authentication, SSL, VPN);
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to articulate ideas clearly to technical and non-technical staff;
  • ITIL Certification V3 or relevant experience;
  • Ability to quickly grasp new products and emerging technologies;
