Job Description

Role Purpose

We are looking for a Junior Insight Analyst to join our Insights team based in Lisbon, supporting the Spanish business. This role is ideal for a candidate with strong analytical skills, a passion for turning data into actionable recommendations, and a good understanding of the Spanish FMCG market.

The successful candidate will work closely with commercial, category, and client teams to analyze market performance, consumer trends, and business opportunities using NielsenIQ data and other syndicated sources.

Key Responsibilities

 

Market & Business Analysis

  • Analyze FMCG market performance, category trends, and competitive dynamics in Spain.
  • Identify opportunities and risks through regular review of market, customer, and consumer data.
  • Support the development of actionable recommendations for internal and external stakeholders.

NielsenIQ Data Management

  • Work extensively with NielsenIQ RMS (Retail Measurement Services) data.
  • Utilize NielsenIQ CPS (Consumer Panel Services) data to understand shopper and household behavior.
  • Perform ad-hoc analyses and answer business questions using syndicated datasets.

Reporting & Insights

  • Prepare recurring reports, scorecards, and dashboards.
  • Translate data into clear, concise, and commercially relevant insights.
  • Support the preparation of client presentations and business reviews.

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Collaborate with Sales, Client Service, and Category teams.
  • Present findings in a simple and compelling manner.
  • Build knowledge of customer strategies and Spanish retail dynamics.

 

 

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Marketing, Statistics, Data Analytics, Mathematics, or a related field.

Experience

  • 1-3 years of experience in Insights, Market Research, Category Management, Business Analytics, or similar roles.
  • Previous exposure to NielsenIQ, Kantar, Circana/IRI, or other FMCG datasets is highly desirable.

Technical Skills

  • Good knowledge of NielsenIQ RMS and CPS databases.
  • Strong Excel skills.
  • Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or similar visualization tools is a plus.
  • Comfortable working with large datasets and conducting quantitative analyses.

Knowledge & Capabilities

Essential

  • Understanding of the Spanish FMCG and Retail market.
  • Ability to identify trends and generate actionable recommendations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Good communication and storytelling skills.

Preferred

  • Native Spanish speaker.
  • Experience working with Spanish retailers and categories.
  • Knowledge of Power BI and basic SQL.

Ideal Candidate Profile

A junior analyst with initial experience working with NielsenIQ RMS and CPS data, who understands the dynamics of the Spanish FMCG market, enjoys working with data, and can translate numbers into meaningful business recommendations. The candidate should be comfortable working from Lisbon while partnering closely with stakeholders across Spain, and preferably be a native Spanish speaker to ensure strong market understanding and effective communication.
